Genetic divergence of cassava genotypes from Petrolina

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study aimed to evaluate cassava genotypes identify the ones with best nutritional values for ruminant diets. Nine were used: Amansa Burro (BGM 549), Aramaris 116), Brasília, Cambadinha (BRS Guaíra), Curvelinha, Engana Ladrão 1269), Trouxinha 1468), BRS Gema de Ovo, and Dourada. A completely randomized block experimental design nine treatments (genotypes) three blocks (replicates) employed. The roots analyzed dry matter production (DMP) in tonnes per hectare, crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid (ADF), starch, vitro digestibility (IVDMD). multivariate analysis was carried out using Ward’s hierarchical agglomerative clustering based on Mahalanobis distance. groups formed evaluated by Scott-Knott test. group genotype chosen as one having highest DMP t ha-1 IVDMD lowest NDF ADF contents.

Genetic Divergence in Deepwater Rice Genotypes

The nature and the magnitude of genetic divergence was estimated in 35 deepwater rice genotypes using Mahalonobis’s D2 – statistics. The genotypes were grouped onto 10 clusters showing fair degree of relationship between geographic distribution and genetic divergence. Cluster IV showed maximum intra cluster divergence while inter cluster divergence was maximum between clusters IX and X. All the...

An analysis of genetic variation and divergence in Indian tropical polyvoltine silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) genotypes

The genetic variation and diversity among fifty-eight polyvoltine silkworm genotypes was estimated by using ten economic traits. The results revealed that the single shell weight showed higher genetic variation such as PCV% (17.20%), GCV% (12.93%), and heritability (56.5%) followed by single cocoon weight, shell ratio and matured larval weight. The D2 (Mahalonobis? distance) statistics reveal...

Genetic Divergence in Selected Durum Wheat Genotypes of Ethiopian Plasm

Wheat of both the tetraploid (Triticum durum Desf.) and hexaploid (Triticum aestivum L.), is the most important cereal crop in Ethiopia, ranking third in total production (17%) next to maize (Zea mays L.) and tef (CSA, 2002). Wheat covers a total arable land of 110,434 ha with average productivity of about 8.4 qt ha-1, which is below the national average (14.4 qt ha-1). A field experiment was c...

Differential response of cassava genotypes to infection by cassava mosaic geminiviruses

Mitigation of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) focuses on the introgression of resistance imparted by the polygenic recessive (CMD1), dominant monogenic (CMD2) and CMD3 loci. The mechanism(s) of resistance they impart, however, remain unknown. Two CMD susceptible and nine CMD resistant cassava genotypes were inoculated by microparticle bombardment with infectious clones of African cassava mosaic vi...
